Why SINE

The average age of the radio communication systems which are used by the police, the fire brigades and ambulance services today is 15 years. The oldest systems are 25 years of age. SINE thereby brings the emergency services a most needed technological update. In addition to this, the emergency services go from having individual analogue radio systems to having one united digital communication system.

The digital radio communication system is introduced in Denmark in order to give the emergency services the best conditions of efficient communication when helping and protecting the citizens. By having one united communication system, SINE secures the foundation of an efficient co-operation within the emergency services.

The purpose of SINE is to use the system in the daily work and in situations where numerous emergency services like the police, the fire brigades and ambulance services co-operate in saving human lives. These situations could be car accidents, natural catastrophes, environmental accidents or situations where it is necessary to evacuate a large number of people.
